Well, it's been a week. I've almost finished a pair of mittens for my friend Rachel. She asked me to make them for her in October *sigh*. I have no self discipline. I must work very hard to get things accomplished for Christmas.
I will persevere.
Pictures to follow.

One Down
I successfully survived Thanksgiving. Dinner was amazing as usual, dessert was fantastic. I lost count at how many pies there were. I got my sweater finished as planned, now its time for the Christmas haul.
Full speed ahead now; figure out who gets what, do I have enough yarn, and most importantly do I have enough time?

Almost there
I should have the sweater done by Thanksgiving. I won't have time to take pictures before we leave this afternoon, but I'll post them later.
Happy THanksgiving all

Oh Dear
I loathe ribbing, that being said all I have left on my sweater is the ribbed border. *sigh*

Finishing UFO's
I've been busy these past few days trying to finish projects. I've got one mitten done of a pair (clearly) for a friend. I got the second sleeve done on the sweater I started almost two months ago ( we had a relapse of summer a month ago and it was way too warm for wool), and I'm on the heel flap of my Spunky socks.
The mittens and sweater need to be finished before I leave for Thanksgiving next week. I think I can manage that.

The Sun
It's funny this time of year, even when the sun is gone for a short time people will miss the brightness of a fresh morning. As far as I know it started raining last night and it had stopped by about 8:30 this morning. When the sun broke through the clouds I rejoiced with everyone else.
Normally I don't go outside a whole lot, but I have come to appreciate sunrises. During the summers I fancy myself getting a tan, but really it's more of a blush- except for my legs, I swear the longer I expose them to UV rays the paler they get. Yes I'm saying my legs bleach in the sun.
I mostly occupy my time reading just about anything. I look for things to read everywhere, in the shower I've read the shampoo bottles so many times I can translate all on my own.
Whenever I travel the first things I pack are a book and yarn. I never know what sort of situation I'll find myself in.
It's all I really need- A good book and good yarn.

Another Week
It's Monday again. I have never worked on a Monday in my life. I work two jobs, one with my father and the other I work for myself. Thirteen years and no Mondays. Mondays are my Sundays, the last day of the weekend and normally a day to get the weekly errands done, except of course on a federal holiday. For some reason the government has felt it necessary to make Mondays the day.
Everyone brags about a long weekend and I think to myself "Wow it's only a regular weekend for me".
The added benefit of me not being able to go the bank or post office is I get more time to knit. I'm making great progress on my sock. I also made headway on a scarf and a pair of mittens.
Today I got the yarn for my mum's Christmas present. All I can say is it's beautiful, soft, and blue.

She Saves
Last night I reclaimed some sock yarn.
A while back I started some totally awesome socks trying to learn my cables. I was doing well, but I really didn't like how the colours worked with the cables. I put it aside for a couple months until last night. I pulled out the ball winder and went to town.
I restarted the Spunky socks in the "atomic melon" colorway. Picot edge and very cool.

Malabrigo
I am relatively new to knitting. It has been almost two years since I bought my first needles and yarn. Well, the holidays are coming along quite quickly now and projects have been chosen.
My guy is getting something very special made with Malabrigo worsted. I've heard people talk about Malabrigo, but I hadn't come across it for some reason. Tuesday I did. It's like velvet- wooly velvet. It is a beautiful deep chocolate brown and every time I hold the skein I think "He doesn't really know it's for him. I could make myself a cozy little scarf and he'd be none the wiser." Sadly the guilt would kick in and I would end up confessing all before I could stop myself.
Here's hoping for good luck making gifts for Other People this fall :)
